1940s Boucle Wool Coat*SOLD*
An original 1940s Black Boucle Wool Coat
A lovely 1940s coat! The style of this 1940s Boucle Wool Coat reminds me of the coat worn by Barbara Stanwyck in the 1944 film, ‘Double Indemnity’.
Fully-lined this coat has a tie-belt which is sewn to the back of the coat so, thankfully, it hasn’t been lost over the decades. No worrying you’ll lose your belt or having to fiddle about with threading it through side loops. This double-breasted coat has two concealed front pockets. The top half of the back has slight gathering at the waist to give that blouson look which I hope you can see in the picture below.
Approx size: similar to a UK 10 to 12. I am at the larger end of a size 10 and it is a little big on me (if that helps!). She’s definitely a coat to fit on before purchase.
Condition: Some wear to the wool with the odd loose thread but she’s in amazing condition for her age (unlike me!).
With this 1940s coat you can be as stylish as Phyllis Dietrichson – but maybe not so ruthless!
