1950s Shirtwaister Dress*SOLD*
Lovely vintage summer dress!
Wonderful 1950s Shirtwaister Dress!
This lovely vintage cotton dress would be ideal for spring and summer. Completely button-through at the front and the sleeves can be worn shirt-style or turned down. There is no belt but there are loops which suggest a belt and I imagine the dress may have had one of matching fabric. However we have added a black belt here. We have also added, just for the photo, a small net skirt to accentuate the shape of the dress but it looks great worn without a petticoat, too.
THE BELT AND THE UNDERSKIRT ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS GORGEOUS DRESS.
Sizing : All items are measured flat and across the back of the garment.
Approx Size:Bust 40-42″; Waist 36″; Length from base of collar to hem 40-41″; Length from base of collar to waist seam 16-17″; Length from waist seam to hem of dress 24″; Width of sleeve 6.5″
Please remember all of these measurements are taken with the garment laid out flat so I suggest you find a similar garment in your wardrobe that is gorgeous and comfortable and measure it flat.
Condition:There is no label in this dress and she looks like she has never been worn. I wonder if she has been homemade. There is an additional seam on the inside cuff of one sleeve but not on the other. Someone changed their mind and didn’t want to remove stitches? It isn’t noticeable when turning up the sleeve edges but I mention for completeness. Belt missing.
A lovely vintage look for a vintage summer!
